The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime. Babe Ruth.

Some tsunamis don't necessarily start at sea.

I want to tell you all a story. A true story. One that happened last Friday 15th October, 2010.

Hurd Supporting Club won the toss and decided to bat. From The Stunners side, Abdul Haseeb, Kashif and Saqlain and Saad bowled very well and didn’t allow the batsmen to play freely; they could only make 126/10 in 12 overs. The fielding of The Stunners was outstanding specially Tallat caught some incredible catches behind the wicket. From the Stunners side, opening batsmen Tallat Saleem and Javed Alam started the innings in attacking fashion. In the first over Tallat hit a marvelous sixer. He was entertaining all the viewers with his classy batting but unfortunately he was caught at the boundary line. Then, Syed Waqas came on first down and started playing ground shots. He was looking very confident and wanted to repeat last week's performance but unfortunately he also caught at the boundary line.

At one time the match was one sided and the target of 126 runs was very easy for the Stunners but after the fall of first few wickets and rise in the run rate, the match was slowly moving towards a loss for our team. Saqlain played a mature innings, he and Haseeb tried their best to play positive shots to bring down the score with hits over the boundary but they too fell. The innings gradually progressed with 29 runs required off the last two overs.

Enter Saad:
The opposition bowler kept things very tight in the second last over, leaking only 7 runs.
Final over. Required runs: 22.

Saad on strike.
No rainy clouds, many frowning faces on the Stunners' bench.

As the opposition bowler took his run up, Saad glanced at the fielders, once. Maybe twice.
His lofted shot flew high into the sky and the long-on boundary fielder stepped backwards to hold on to the catch.
The Stunners bench was smiling. Confused, the fielder looked back to see he had crossed the boundary line. Six!
Next ball, the fielders move closer to the boundary, they thought they had this in the bag, not quite.
Six. Another HUGE one over long off.

Under pressure from Saad's nuclear warfare, the bowler resorted to bowling a wide next ball.
The third ball saw Saad rotate the strike to Kashif with a single. Kashif returned the favor next ball when trying for a huge shot.
7 runs off two balls to win.
As Saad hit the 5th ball of the over, it seemed to be heading for a quick trip to Bahrain over long off. Six again!
The Hurd Supporting Club could not believe what had just happened. Some tsunami's don't necessarily start at sea.

Exasperated, they bowled the next ball wide.
The Stunners had just witnessed one of their best victories ever. Saad smiled.

Well done Saad for a marvelous performance.
